If you read some of the articles here, you have probably realized that they are mostly about gadgets that are either useful or cool or both. However, like with everything else, there are also some that are much less successful and that could be quite honestly called flops on an epic scale. In this article, I will be talking about a few kitchen gadgets that are so pointless and so useless that it is quite obvious they were made just so that they can rip off bored housewives.

The first of these is the asparagus peeler, which may sound like a good idea, allowing you to peel your asparagus more effectively and more quickly. The only problem here is that the vast, vast majority of people have never peeled an asparagus because it is completely pointless and a waste of time. So, basically, you are making your time-wasting more time-efficient.

Pickle picker is yet another of these kitchen gadgets that is a complete exercise in futility and pointlessness (is that a word?). Namely, what it is is basically a fork that someone is charging you extra for because it is supposed to have a unique purpose. I am surprised that there are no more useless gadgets like this one that are basically one thing and that are advertised as something completely unique.

Spoon rest is something that you will actually see in peoples’ kitchens and the only thing that comes to my mind when I see something like that is really? Are you really that paranoid about the cleanliness of your counters and also your spoons that you cannot tolerate the spoon touching the counter for a few moments? Also, isn’t it equally as efficient if you take a small saucer and rest your spoon there?

Pasta makers sound like the best idea out of all the kitchen gadgets. However, there is a very good reason why pasta is bought already made and that is the fact that it is so difficult and so complicated to make your own pasta that you soon start thinking about eating your fingers instead.
